UNBELIEVABLE! No I'm not talking about the rain out, or the amazing streak of luck that the #24 car is enjoying. I am talking about the ridiculous unlucky streak of Jon Lommerin. For the second session in a row, Jon is eliminated almost immediately. Last session he had the first pick and was eliminated in the third race, this time he has the second pick and is again eliminated in the third race of the session when the #48 of Jimmy Johnson blew a tire and ground down the sway bar on his Chevy, putting him laps down early in the rain delayed / rain shortened race at Pocono.
On the other hand, Mike Inskeep's team looked strong with a 1-2 finish. Too bad that means nothing in this league. What it does indicate is that he may be the early favorite to go the distance. With the #24 car performing out of this world and the #12 of Ryan Newman showing 3 consecutive Poles and 2 consecutive top 5's (I think - too lazy to actually do the research) he is looking strong.
Jon, the tribe has spoken. Pack up your pit box and load your hauler. Better luck next time.
Next week, MIS. Scott and I will be personally overseeing the action from the grandstands near the start/finish line. We will also be in the pit area before the race. Wish me luck with keeping Scott from going "Allstate Housewife" on Kasey Kahne if we see him.
